As educators, we are in unprecedented times. Never did we think that a global pandemic would cripple the world. Districts across the nation were told to close their schools, send students and staff home, and begin to teach and learn in an online/remote environment.
Educators are adept at solving difficult challenges daily, but the problems now faced are paramount. Although complex, these challenges will lead to adaptation and innovation. Even during the immediate and unplanned disruption of this year, successful leaders and teachers must focus on the future—on the ways education for ALL children will need to change to not only be prepared for future disruptions, but to unleash more self-sustained learning for educators and students no matter the context. This means working backward from a vision of future learning to the systems that will support it.
Leaders should be working now to put in place the operational, instructional leadership and teaching practices that will proactively build those resilient systems in their schools and districts for sustainable impact.
AFSA and the International Center for Leadership in Education invites you to attend this pertinent, timely webinar. ICLE founder Dr. Bill Daggett will share his findings from roundtable discussions with district and school leaders across the nation and focus on 12 key topics districts and schools must consider as they plan for Re-Entry and Beyond.
