MEMBER AT LARGE SECONDARY

April Myrick has served as an Assistant Principal for many years and is currently the Principal at Patterson High School. April began her educational career in a middle school in China in a suburb outside of Shanghai with the intent of mastering Mandarin, but in turn fell in love with teaching. Upon returning to the states, she enrolled in Project Site Support at Johns Hopkins University in partnership with Baltimore City Public Schools to earn her teaching certificate. April's motto is, Excellence is expected and distinction is our goal", which was plastered on a wall at her alma mater, Lincoln University where she earned her Bachelor's degree. She also holds a Master's degree from Johns Hopkins University. With one of the most difficult jobs in the district, April believes that Principals are entitled to quality professional learning, growth opportunities, and appropriate compensation.
